#25 Costumes and Props

  • All these costumes are going to be used as the outfits for our actors,
  • The Boys suit will be used for the dance routine.
  • The girl clothes will be used for the club scene.

#24 Casting Shots

We have chosen Tamzene to be the singer because she's a really talented singer.  And it is easier to be believable that she is singing. She will also be featured aa a character in our video as a singer trying to make a song and make it in the music industry.

#23 Shot Locations

  • We chose the first shot location as it is where he hope to shoot our dance scene of our video.
  • The second picture is where we will film our club/rave scene.
  • This is where we will film the ending scene hopefully with a sun set to set the atmosphere.
  • This is where we hope to recreate a walk in the park scene with our couple.
  • This is where we will film our scenes where the couple will live.

# 19 Story Plan

Starts of with a couple side by side holding hands striking a pose.

Then moves on to things they did together such as; watching films together and reading books as numbers will appear as to how many of the chosen things have been accomplished.

Then their lives moving on with all the good things and bad things that they have to deal with in their relationship.

Locations
Mixed common rooms in houses for living rooms and some rooms with given permission for certain scenes.

South lawn for some lip sync moments

Who
Couple is still undecided and in process.

Myself Kylan and Hugo are not going to be in our video as we feel that it will ruin our film and loose the 'magic'.

Singer for the lip sync is decided and we feel as a group that this girl is appropriate for the pop genre.

Our two main characters will be a male and female, however the singing will be done another female. This female shall be telling a story about the couple. They will start by dancing in Gordonstoun House (School) and then moving on to the basement (representing club). A dance student will help choreograph our moves. Not only will the lyrics tell us a story, but the moves of the dances shall also, by the body movements and emotions.

Later on, matching with the lyrics, “ready for the afterglow”, we shall have some shots of them walking down next to the school lake. Throughout the song, we switch between our main singer, and the dancers. We will also imbed sparklers, glow sticks, lamp poles, and flashing lights to fit the title the song, ‘Afterglow’.

#18 Key elements including a theorist

Music video:
  • Timed lip-syncing
  • Well shot video (range of shots)
  • Sound editing
  • Different effects
  • A range of props

Things to Include:

  • A range of locations )
  • Editing to the beat
  • Range of effects
  • Lip Syncing
  • A story
  • Good filming and editing
  • Use of lights
Our music video should be attracting a very wide range of audience members due to the fact that our song is in the Pop genre and should be popular.

We can look at a man called Andrew Goodwin who looks at the narrative of a video so in our video we have a narrative but it is a physical version along with text to help the audience understand the stages of the events. Andrew has said that most music videos tell a story but in this instance it is right due to it being a story. The technical aspects of the video are all about the quick cuts and the wide range of camera shots and camera angles.

#17 Researching Institutions

Marketing -
The labels that Afterglow by Wilkinson has are Ram records, Virgin EMI records and Hospital records which are big names especially Virgin. The way this was advertised was by it being and increasingly popular song and ended up on the top 40 most purchased songs for a little while. A channel on You tube called VEVO also advertised this on their channel so there was a lot of promotion for this and now currently has over 25 million views and still rising. iTunes also advertised this on their charts page.
Production -
Music Videos are often produced by the record companies, for example, Afterglow was produced by the producer "Wilkinson" but the vocals were sung and recorded by Becky Hill. It was released on the 13th of October, 2013. However, on some occasions, the production of a music video is done by a third party company. Some musicians decide to have their song produced by independent production companies. This will be done to keep the originality of their ideas.

Distribution - Vimeo, YouTube, UKF and iTunes.

This is Wilkinson's (the artist of the song we are doing) Youtube page, this youtube page is distributed by 'Vevo'
You can get Vevo in the USA, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Spain and the UK. You can access Vevo on the mobile web and every 'Apple' device and on 'Windows'. Vevo has over 50,000 videos available with google. According to the company profile its been ranked as the number one music platform on the web. On Vevo, they have music videos, original series, behind-the-scenes footage, live performances and interviews with artists.

#16 Attracting the perfect audience member

The perfect audience member we would hopefully be attracting is trendy, aspirant, and an outing young character. We want to attract this audience member because they will be able to advertise and recommend our music video through word of mouth and social media, and hopefully it will then trend to a wider audience. We want to be able to relate the video to our audience members through having a storyline about the day to day struggles teenagers go through. I think to make our music video successful, we need to be attracting a large audience, with different taste. In order to do this, it will be complex, but on the other hand it will be worth while. We will be doing this by having visual effects and something everyone can relate too.

#15 Perfect audience member

Urban - Would be young adults who live in the city's and are the kind of people who enjoy a lot of beat in music and would be one type of our audience members.

Aspirant - This particular type of audience member is ready to spend money to look good and keeping with the times and the fashion styles.

Mainstream - Chilled and relaxed these people are about going out at the end of the week and following the crowd for an good time and a party.

#14 Audience Research

Some people like the lyrics in music and along with a good beat to go along well with the song and this can prove to be very effective for artists if they can make something for everyone, this is why hip-hop and R&B is so popular with people.
If the singer is famous then people will listen anyway most of the time but may not like it which is why having a song in the charts is good for artists and singers because people will hear it on the radio all the time.
A lot of people listen to their own type of music because it links in with their emotions and feelings like if their going through a hard time.
Music is great for all kinds of things for example country music for driving and road trips, hard rock or metal for working out.
A music video can make especially if it is well remembered for example if it has a significant dance routine fore example This is well known worldwide for the dance just as well as the song.
